About our Mapping Service

Since approximately the year 2000, the Scottsdale Neurofeedback Institute (SNI) Mapping Service has specialized in Quantitative EEG analysis (QEEG) as an aid to medical and behavioral health clinicians in EEG-Biofeedback protocol selection and behavioral health assessment.

SNI provides comprehensive QEEG analysis services using the clinical integration of multiple QEEG Databases including

  • the NYU Medical School Database (NX Link)
  • Applied Neuroscience Database (Neuroguide)
  • Neurorep QEEG Analysis System
  • Neuroguide LORETA Analysis
  • Nova Tech EEG: Eureka! LORETA Analysis System.

SNI also provides comprehensive QEEG-Guided neurofeedback protocols based on an integration of the published research evidence, clinical research conducted at the ADD Clinic and Scottsdale Neurofeedback Institute, and clinical experience with QEEG and neurofeedback since 1995.

Send us your EEG data and our rapid reporting service will deartifact your EEG data, perform QEEG-Analysis, and provide you with a comprehensive report detailing possible clinical correlates of client symptoms and neurofeedback recommendations generally within 2 business days.

The SNI Mapping Service is run by Robert L. Gurnee, LCSW, MSW, DCSW, BCN-Senior Fellow, QEEGD is the Director of the of ADD Clinic and Scottsdale Neurofeedback Institute. Robert is a Board Certified Diplomate of the QEEG Board and a Board Certified Senior Fellow of the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance. Robert has served as the past president for the International Society for Neurofeedback and Research (ISNR) and the Neurofeedback Division of the Association of Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (AAPB). Robert has extensive experience in QEEG analysis and neurofeedback. He has been specializing in QEEG and neurofeedback at the ADD Clinic since 1995. How to Upload Files

  • Step 1: Download the SNI Intake Form which can be downloaded by right clicking here and selecting ‘save target as’. We recommend saving the intake form to your desktop so it will be easy to find in the future.

  • Step 2: Complete the SNI Intake Form thoroughly for each client.

  • Step 3: Enter your Email address where it says “Please CAREFULLY enter your email address”.

  • Step 4: Enter your name where it says “enter your name and / or company here”.

  • Step 5: Click the Browse button next to File1 and select the completed intake form to upload.  Use the additional Browse buttons next to File 2, File 3, etc. to select your client’s EEG data files for upload.  (Generally you should have 3 files for each client data upload:  The intake form, the eyes open EEG file, and the eyes closed EEG file).

  • Step 6:  Once you have selected all the files you wish to upload, click “Send”.

  • Step 7: Wait until all files have been sent before leaving the page.  SNI will be notified that you have uploaded data and you will receive a confirmation by e-mail that your data has been received.

Become a New Client

Welcome and thank you for your interest in the SNI Mapping Service!  We have been specializing in QEEG analysis with an emphasis on the use of QEEG for EEG-Biofeedback since 2000.  If you would like to use our Mapping Service, the process is simple.

  1. Contact us at 480-625-4123 and introduce yourself.
  2. Provide a method of payment and your contact information including e-mail address, phone number, and mailing address.  Most clients leave a credit card on file with our office manager.  However, you can pay with a check as well.  Note: SNI does not process data until payment arrangements have been made.
  3. Complete the SNI Intake Form for each client for whom you wish to have EEG data analyzed.
  4. Upload your intake form and EEG data files.
  5.  SNI will process your data, generally within 2 business days.

Some Notes about Recording and Exporting the EEG Data Files You Would like SNI to Process

  1.  Export and send that EEG data as two separate files (one eyes open and one eyes closed not including any task data that you would like us to process) if possible.
  2. Please make your best effort to save the eyes closed as one complete file (as opposed to multiple short files) and the eyes open file as one large file (as opposed to multiple shorter files).  This allows for the best chance of obtaining an artifact minimal sample for QEEG analysis.
  3. Clinical EEG recording standards require a minimum of 20 minutes of total recording time (to include eyes open, eyes closed, and tasks).  We encourage neurofeedback professionals to follow this standard and suggest recording for at least 10 minutes in the eyes open condition and 10 minutes in the eyes closed condition as a good practice and especially if your client is having difficulty reducing artifact such as EMG, EOG, or drowsiness.
  4. Please be sure to indicate on the Intake Form the type of amplifier you used to record the EEG, clearly label the EEG data files, and indicate if you used any special filter settings.
  5. As always, if you have questions, please contact us at or at 480-625-4123.
