A QEEG is not the same as a Clinical EEG, which is used in the medical field to diagnose and evaluate epilepsy or to determine if there is serious brain pathology, such as a tumor.
By contrast, Quantitative EEG does not assess the structure of the brain, but rather, evaluates the manner in which a particular person’s brain functions. It is not designed to diagnose tumors, epilepsy, or other traditional medical conditions.
We at the Scottsdale Neurofeedback Institute do however work closely with a neurologist, who where necessary, and with your consent, will evaluate your EEG data if we feel some unusual wave activity may be present.
